Mold can be caused by a large variety of conditions in your home besides having a water damage incident. It can be caused by an improperly balanced HVAC system, a humidistat malfunctioning, a compromised vapor barrier, cracks in an exterior wall allowing moisture to migrate inside, and the list goes on and on.  If one of these problems occur, mold can become a problem rather quickly.
